A Cochrane review included 9 studies with a total of 2284 subjects. The largest of the included studies (n=1275) showed similar rates of vaginal birth after cesarean section in groups receiving verbal (two 1-hour sessions) or document (a pamphlet) educational intervention. There were no differences in the rate of caesarean section (OR 1.1, 95% CI 1.0 to 1.2).
Comment: The quality of evidence is downgraded by sparse data. Only one high-quality trial was available and one intervention studied.
