The patient was referred for investigation of short bouts of palpitations probably caused by short-lasting, innocent and temporary atrial tachycardia. Cardiac status is normal, no murmur, echocardiography is normal. Both phonocardiogram contours show the sound of breathing and the third heart sound (S3), which is visible at times, but hardly heard at all. Age 5.1 years, height 116.0 cm, weight 20.0 kg. Area of auscultation: left third intercostal space (LIC3)
