Combination of three or four antiviral drugs results in reduced rate of virologic failure.
A Cochrane review included 4 trials. Maintenance therapies involving fewer than three drugs were associated with higher risk of virologic failure (OR 5.55, 95% CI 3.14 to 9.80).
