A 81-year-old woman felt a snap and slight pain in the right shoulder while arranging furniture. Rupture of the long head of the biceps muscle tendon was diagnosed clinically: the biceps muscle is situated more distally than normal and the muscle belly bulges when the patient flexes her elbow. The condition causes minimal functional impairment and needs no treatment.
