Scleroderma circumscripta or morphea is a patchy skin-hardening disease. A markedly pale, whitish, inelastic, hardened central area is typically surrounded by a reddish-lilac diffuse ring. The red spot in the uppermedial region is an ecchymosis. There is no specific cure, but penicillin (orally, for one month) combined with topical calci(po)triol for a few months may be tried.
