Widespread atopic dermatitis in a young child with an outlook that should remind of the possibility of secondary bacterial infection (here reality), even of possible scabies. Bacterial culture does not help much in diagnostics. Staphylococcus aureus grows in 98% of specimens taken from skin with atopic dermatitis. Wrist, palm and plantar skin and male genitalia tell much about the possibility of infestation by Sarcoptes scabiei.
