A topic in Clinical Evidence summarizes the results of one systematic review (search date 2000, 9 RCTs, 4641 people) and two subsequent RCTs. Zolmitriptan increased headache relief at 2 hours compared with placebo (AR 63.5% with zolmitriptan 2.5 mg vs 62.5% with zolmitriptan 5 mg vs about 30% with placebo). The subsequent RCTs had similar results. One systematic review (3 RCTs) found no significant difference between zolmitriptan and sumatriptan.
