Young (teenage) boys are the most common targets for Henoch-Schönlein's purpura, also called allergic purpura. There is no thrombocytopenia. Usually no specific causative agent is found, although infections and drugs may be suspected. The main risk is renal involvement. Rest is needed, but the opinions of the benefit of oral corticoid therapy are not unanimous.
