The so-called ”stork bite”, a harmless birthmark in the back of the neck, is the most common form of vascular naevi of the skin. It is found in virtually every child under the age of one year. Almost always the patch has faded and become invisible when the child reaches puberty, but sometimes it reappears in the adulthood as a map-like patch with varying shades of red colour.
