Seborrhoeic dermatitis in one of the most typical sites, on the hairy skin in the sideburn area. Topical corticosteroids relieve the symptoms; alternatively topical antifungals (preferably ketoconazole) can be used as therapy. Pityrosporum yeast may play a role in this dermatitis, which is especially common in elderly men.
