Plantar mycosis, "moccasin tinea", in the left foot. The symptoms are mild, only occasional itching, but the scaling with some hyperkeratosis is obvious. This clinical picture is often caused by T. rubrum in (genetically) predisposed individuals. The disease may remain unilateral for years (in spite of being contagious!). Oral fungicidal antifungal agents regularly lead to complete cure.
