Keratosis pilaris atrophicans faciei (ulerythema ophryogenes) is a relatively uncommon variant of Keratosis pilaris. It is a genetically determined condition, believed to be related to the mild form of ichthyosis, Ichthyosis vulgaris. The reddish, rough skin is typical to the process, where horny plugs are formed in the openings of pilosebaeous units and eyebrows are sparse. There is no lasting cure.
