Pompholyx (dyshidrotic eczema) is a descriptive name for recurrent blistering in the palms of the hands. The blisters may be associated with eczema or with tinea pedis as an id reaction, but often there is no apparent cause. In this patient the blisters are small and arise on a healthy-looking skin. Moist dressings and bathing together with a potent corticosteroid liniment or a skin cream speed up recovery. Recurrent episodes are, however, common until the symptoms spontaneously subside.
