High intensity aerobic exercise may be as effective as low intensity exercise for patients with osteoarthritis of the knee.
A Cochrane review (abstract , review ) [withdrawn from publication] included 1 study with a total of 39 patients. There were no significant differences between high intensity and low intensity aerobic exercise on participants with OA of the knee for functional status, gait, pain and aerobic capacity.
Comment: The quality of evidence is downgraded by imprecise results (few patients and wide confidence intervals).
