Cochrane reviews
- Early treatment of early stage multiple myeloma appears to inhibit disease progression and reduce vertebral compression. However, early treatment may increase the risk of acute leukemia .
Bisphosphonates (clodronate and pamidronate) prevent pathological vertebral fractures and reduce pain in multiple myeloma .
