- The licensed Ty21a and Vi polysaccharide vaccines are efficacious against typhoid fever. The new and unlicensed Vi-rEPA vaccine is as efficacious and may confer longer immunity .
- Prednisolone appears not to improve nerve function in patients with sensory impairment in leprosy .
- Decompression surgery as add-on treatment to oral prednisolone seems not to be beneficial in the treatment of nerve damage in leprosy, but the evidence is insufficient .
- Thalidomide and clofazimine may have some effect in the treatment of erythema nodosum leprosum .
