- Laparoscopic fundoplication surgery appears to be more effective than medical management for the treatment of gastro-oesophageal reflux disease in the short to medium term but surgery does carry some risk .
- Endoscopic therapies seem to induced regression of Barrett's oesophagus and dysplasia, although the evidence is insufficient .
