  • There is insufficient evidence on intravenous lidocaine for pain relief in burn injured patients .
  • There is no evidence of the effect of topical negative pressure (TNP) for the treatment of thermal burns .

Other evidence summaries

  • Hydrogels, silicon coated dressings, biosynthetic dressings and antimicrobial dressings may all be effective in the treatment of superficial and partial thickness burn injuries and provide more rapid wound healing than silver sulphadiazine or chlorhexidine impregnated gauze dressings .
