- Hydrogels, silicon coated dressings, biosynthetic dressings and antimicrobial dressings may all be effective in the treatment of superficial and partial thickness burn injuries and provide more rapid wound healing than silver sulphadiazine or chlorhexidine impregnated gauze dressings .
