- Hyperbaric oxygen may improve hearing in early idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss but the clinical significance of the improvement is not clear. There is no evidence of a beneficial effect on tinnitus .
- Antiviral drugs are probably not effective in the treatment of idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss .
- Steroids might possibly have some beneficial effect on hearing recovery in idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss but the evidence is insufficient .
