- Intraoperative mitomycin C in trabeculectomy may reduce the risk of surgical failure in eyes that have undergone no previous surgery and in eyes at high risk of failure .
- Surgical or pharmacological treatment of normal tension glaucoma may be effective in preventing visual field loss, but treatment may increase the risk of cataract formation .
